Meet the Teacher

Dear Families,
I am so excited to be your child’s second grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year! I love being at Gold Rush Elementary. Many of you know that I taught fourth grade here last year.  I have many years of experience in both 2nd and 4th grades but am thrilled to be teaching second grade again. We are going to have a great year.๐Ÿ’›
My family is incredibly busy. I am married to a wonderful man who happens to be a social studies teacher and tennis coach at Chaparral High School. We have four grown children. Alyson is a high school English teacher in Longmont and just married her best friend, Pete this past March. He is also a high school English teacher. Hannah is a banker in Highlands Ranch and has a passion for horses. Zach is a senior at Mesa University and will be student teaching this fall to become a high school science teacher. The youngest is Elizabeth and she is a senior at CSU studying computer information systems and environmental sustainability. We are very proud of all of our children. ๐Ÿ’œ
I am very excited to meet you and your child. I would love for your child to write me a detailed letter introducing themselves and your family. Tell me all about summer and draw a picture of a summer adventure. They may also write down some questions that want to ask me. You can bring it on August 7th for the "Meet Your Teacher" or the first day of school.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon!๐Ÿ’™
